  •   SEO, Search Engine Optimization is a method of improving the visibility of a website or other digital media in organic search engine results. It is typically described as "the art and science of making a website visible to harvest maximum traffic for your site".                                                      
  •  In order to improve the visibility on Google, Bing, Yahoo!, and other search engines, some marketing experts recommend using keywords strategically in content on your site.

  • Sometimes people hire professional SEO companies to help them with their digital marketing campaign. The most difficult part about hiring professional SEO companies is that they typically have complicated standards that are not easily understood by people who don't have a professional background.

SEO is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or webpage by increasing site traffic from search engines via "natural" or un-paid (Organic) search results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from that search - and typically it will have a higher conversion rate.

 SEO is often split into two categories: White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO

  • White Hat SEO techniques are those that search engines recommend as they have positive effects but don't violate the search engine's guidelines.                                                                                        
  • Black Hat SEO includes unethical techniques that search engines explicitly prohibit, such as duplicate content, link farming, keyword stuffing and other manipulative practices.                                                                                                                                                                      However, there are a number of other methods that search engines allow which aren't necessarily recommended or endorsed by the major search engines. 

Process of SEO         

  • In the past, one of the main benefits of having a website was that it could be indexed by search engines. This had a number of advantages for the webmaster, including allowing people to find information about their product, service or brand.                                                                               
  • However, in 2005 Google announced that they would be penalising websites that used unpaid methods to improve their rankings. In April 2007, Google announced they would begin downgrading websites if they did not completely remove all paid advertising content from the site within a short space of time after being notified.                                                                         

  • In April 2008, Google announced plans to cut back on explicitly linking AdWords and other forms of paid advertisements to web pages onto which they have been added.                                                                                                                                                                                  
  • The next few sections describe some of the techniques that SEOs use to boost a site in the search engine rankings. This will give you an idea of what is involved in a digital marketing campaign.                                                  
  • The most important part of SEO is choosing the right keywords to be associated with your website. Types of Links in SEO


There are two ways to get links 
  1. natural  
  2. Paid link 
building is an approach where you pay for links which will improve your site's rankings. It is an unethical practice that can have a lasting negative impact on your site and brand.

  • Natural link building comes from websites linking to your website and providing good quality content that isn't related to your product or service. The main point of natural link building is the quality of the links, the more high quality links you have, the higher your pages will rank in Google. 
  • In addition to this, some blog networks will choose to link to websites they think would benefit their audience. External links can be beneficial because it increases "authority" which in turn could lead people to like/follow your blog and therefore find out more about you and how you can help them.
